  • Venue: 130 Baronne Street, New Orleans, Louisiana 70112
  • Location: Immaculate Conception Jesuit Church

Join us for the performance of Palestrina’s Missa Papae Marcelli, written for a man who was pope only three weeks. The Jesuits, who are hosting this concert maintain the legend that Palestrina wrote this mass in order to pursue the powers that were planning to ban polyphony in liturgical music to change their minds regarding its unintelligibility of the lyrics. Of course, now you must know Latin to understand, but I’m sure you’ll figure it out.

I’m so proud to be part of this select group of singers, under the direction of Dr. Meg Frazier, invited to sing this incredibly challenging and moving piece in my home church.
